4.0mm Sapphire — Set (3) — Mixed Denim Blue & Smoky Teal Tones
These 4.0mm Sapphires feature an interesting mix of medium to deep denim blue, slate blue, smoky teal and blue-green tones. Some stones display beautiful flashes of brighter cornflower blue, while others have muted grayish or greenish undertones. Their natural-looking color zoning creates areas of contrasting blue and green within individual stones, adding depth and character.
These are a more included selection, with visible inclusions and variations in transparency and color saturation. While they are not as clean or uniformly colored as some of my other sapphires, their distinctive coloring makes them particularly appealing for organic, rustic and one-of-a-kind jewelry designs. At approximately 4mm, they are also a wonderful size for individual accent stones or small focal settings.
Sapphire is a variety of corundum, prized for its exceptional hardness, durability and beautiful range of colors. Although best known for its classic blue varieties, sapphire occurs in nearly every color of the rainbow. Its blue color is primarily produced by trace amounts of iron and titanium. Sapphire has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, making it an excellent choice for many jewelry applications.
